What is a "commonplace book"?

The Common Place Book is a notebook in which ideas and information that have been written down are colour-coded by genre so that they can be easily looked back on later. 

When used with the "Join Dots" connecting pen, sold separately, you can complete a notebook that allows you to record anytime while also making it easy to access information later. The specialised pen "Join-dots" is a 3-colour connected pen designed for easy dot pressing.
